The strong impetus given to bilateral relations by HM King Mohammed VI's visit to Russia and that of Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev to Morocco 'enables us to continue with confidence the cooperation in various fields,' said Patrushev, who co-chaired with Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita the 7th session of the Moroccan-Russian Joint Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation Committee.

'Between January and July 2018, the volume of bilateral trade totaled 900 million dollars,' said the Minister, assuring that his country will make every effort to further increase the volume of trade with Morocco.

Patrushev also noted the 'great importance' that Russia attaches to broadening bilateral cooperation agreements with the Kingdom, underlining that several draft cooperation agreements in the field of transportation and telecommunication are being finalized.

The minister also mentioned the possibility of implementing, as soon as possible, a cooperation agreement in the field of the peaceful use of nuclear energy.

In order to deepen strategic cooperation relations, the Minister highlighted the need to explore the implementation of other initiatives in the field of innovation and high technology, giving the example of Morocco's telemedicine project using Russian technology.
