Czech PM 'Satisfied' with Outcome of his Visit to Morocco

    06 Dec 2018

Czech Prime minister Andrej Babiš said, on Wednesday in Casablanca, that he is 'satisfied' with the outcome of his visit to Morocco, which offers 'great potential' to investors in several sectors, including aeronautics and the automotive industry.

Following a meeting with president of the Moroccan Employers' Association (CGEM), Salaheddine Mezouar, the Czech official said that the talks focused on ways to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.

In a statement to the press at the end of the meeting, Babiš said that during his stay in Morocco he had met several Moroccan officials with a view to redefining the cooperation policy between Prague and Rabat.

On this occasion, he recalled that a delegation of Moroccan industrialists will later on visit the Czech Republic to explore business and investment opportunities in his country in order to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation and consolidate trade between the two countries.

The Czech Prime minister also reaffirmed his country's determination to strengthen trade with Morocco, the Czech Republic's second largest partner in Africa.

For his part, Mezouar told the press that both Morocco and the Czech Republic offer broad opportunities for cooperation, stressing that exchanges with this European country will enable Moroccan investors to further strengthen their presence in the old continent.

This meeting with Babiš is likely to give new impetus to cooperation between the business communities of both countries, he added, recalling that over the past three years, the two sides have had several constructive meetings, which led to the consolidation of successful partnerships.

The visit of the Czech PM will make it possible to find synergies in several promising sectors such as technology and agri-food, he noted, announcing that a business council will be set up to boost the exchange dynamic between the two countries.
