Morocco, Serbia Set to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation in Tourism

09 Mar 2019

Rabat - Minister of Tourism, Air Transport, Handicrafts and Social Economy, Mohamed Sajid, and Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, Rasim Ljajić, agreed on Wednesday in Rabat to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the economic and trade areas and to implement bilateral agreements.

During talks with the Moroccan minister, Ljajić said that Serbia is determined to step up bilateral cooperation in training and tourism, underlining the need to consolidate air transport between the two countries, particularly through the launch of low-cost airline flights.

The Serbian official also stressed the importance of simplifying visa procedures by the two countries and to organize conferences and meetings dedicated to tourism promoters, while insisting on the need to launch an air route between Belgrade and Rabat, the ministry of Tourism said in a statement.

He added that Serbia supports Morocco's bid to host the 24th General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) scheduled for 2021.

For his part, Sajid welcomed the Serbian support to the Moroccan bid to host this global event, hailing Moroccan-Serbian ties in the economic and trade fields.

In this regard, Sajid called for further developing bilateral relations, while underlining the importance of setting up partnerships between Moroccan and Serbian tourism promoters.
