TAP) – The House of People’s Representatives (HPR) approved on Wednesday at a plenary session a bill related to a Tunisian-French financial protocol and an annex worth €15 million (about 51.3 million dinars) mobilised as part of funding the support programme of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

This protocol includes a €12-million loan (41MD) and a €3-million donation (about 10.27 MD) dedicated to funding investment projects for the benefit of small- and medium-sized industrial enterprises.

The programme targets the enterprises whose capital is owned in its majority by Tunisians and whose investment volume is worth about €15 million (51.3MD), including the extension investments and the traded capital.

The 12-million-dinar loan that will be reimbursed over 15 years with a 10-year-grace period with no interests, is devoted to the purchase of French equipment and services with the possibility to finance Tunisian or foreign equipment and services around 30% of the amount of each import contract, provided that the French suppliers shoulder the responsibility of the contracts' execution.

The €3-million donation is dedicated to finance the assistance of recepient enterprises, mainly at the level of training and technical support that cost 25% of the credit’s value.
