Rabat - Head of Government, Saad Dine El Otmani, held talks here on Tuesday with Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Li Yong, which focused on the means to develop bilateral cooperation.

During the talks, El Otmani said that Morocco attaches particular importance to industrial development, stressing, in this regard, the importance of the industrial development plan for the period 2014-2020, says a statement by the Department of the Head of Government.

The industrial sector is among the three most important sectors in Morocco, after agriculture and tourism, El Otmani pointed out, noting that the contribution of industry to the gross domestic product is increasing year after year.

For his part, UNIDO Director-General praised Morocco's industrial development as well as the efforts made to develop this sector.

Yong also shed light on the Kingdom’s potential as a gateway to Africa, the source added.

A Programme for Country Partnership (PCP) was signed Tuesday in Rabat between Morocco and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), to support the kingdom’s industrialization efforts and boost sustainable development.
