    Flights Ban: RAM Allows Ticket Changes For Canada-Morocco Flights

    Canada decided to suspend flights with Morocco after the alarming surge in the number of COVID-19 cases.

    Rabat - Royal Air Maroc has decided to allow passengers to change flights between Canada and Morocco.

    'To support all our passengers during this period, ticket changes from Morocco to Canada will be allowed, free of charge, until December 15, 2021, to the same or another destination,' Royal Air Maroc announced.

    Meanwhile, the company announced that refunds for tickets to Canada will be in the 'form of a voucher or cash at the original point of sale.'

    The Moroccan carrier announced the news after Canada decided to ban flights coming from Morocco amid a surge in the number of COVID-19 cases.

    The ban, which started on August 29, will run until September 29.

    The suspension of flights from Morocco does not include cargo services, medical, and military operations.

    Canada Transport announced the decision after numerous travelers from Morocco were detected with positive COVID-19 results.

    Morocco experienced a peak in the number of COVID-19 cases in recent weeks.

    The number of COVID-19 cases recorded per day reaches over 9,000.

    Moreover, the number of daily deaths is a source of concern in Morocco.

    The death toll reached ​​​​12,437 while the total number of COVID-19 cases jumped to 853,373​​ as of August 29.

    The number of recoveries is also increasing. Approximately 780,434 Moroccans have recovered from the virus to date.
