Rabat - Air France appointed Nicolas Fouquet as managing director responsible for the North Africa-Sahel region based at the company's office in Casablanca.

The appointment took effect on September 1.

“He succeeds Pierre Muracciole who ceased his duties as Chief Executive Officer of Air France-KLM for the region on the same date,” according to a press release from Air France-KLM.

The region includes 7 countries, including Morocco, Algeria, Burkina Faso, Mali, Mauritania, Niger and Tunisia.

Air France’s new managing director for the North Africa-Sahel region is a graduate of the National School of Civil Aviation as an Engineer / Aeronautical Techniques.

Fouquet began his career in Morocco with Maroc Aviation and Bureau Veritas Maroc, before transferring to Air France-KLM in December 2000.

During his career, he held a variety of positions within Air France-KLM, most notably in the Europe & North Africa Ground Operations Department.

He also worked at the Operations Department of the Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport, responsible for overseeing the operational management of 760 daily flights.

“With more than 20 years of experience in the field of air transport, he is recognized both as an expert in operational management in complex environments and for his ability to lead programs of transformation and improvement of customer treatment,' Air France said.
