3 Million People Received COVID-19 Booster Shots in Morocco

Morocco confirmed 885 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours.

Rabat - Morocco’s Health Ministry’s latest data shows that 3,095,736 people received the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine as of January 3.

The daily COVID-19 report showed that people who received the first two doses of the vaccine amounted to 22,941,678, while 24,567,233 people received the first dose of the vaccines.

In the past 24 hours, Morocco confirmed 885 COVID-19 new cases. The number is relatively less than the infections confirmed in the past few days. Morocco’s health ministry confirmed not less than 2,000 cases of COVID-19 in the past few days.

The total number of COIVD-19 cases reached 967,662 to date.

The ministry also reported seven deaths in the past 20 hours. The COVID-related death toll reached 14,862.

Recoveries reached 941,923 after 365 recovered in the past 24 hours.

Morocco has now 10,877 active COVID-19 cases.

The North African country’s laboratories also carried out 9,914,314 COVID-19 tests since March 2020. In the past 24 hours, laboratories across Morocco carried out 6,2012 tests.

Morocco has a total of 166 patients in critical cases, of which 35 were admitted to hospitals in the past 24 hours.

Fifty-six cases are under artificial respiration.

The Casablanca-Settat region reported the majority of cases confirmed in the past 24 hours (400 cases, four deaths), followed by Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (256 cases, three deaths), Marrakech-Safi (139 cases), and Souss-Massa (38 cases).

Beni Mellal-Khenifra reported 16 cases, followed by Tangier-Tetouan Al Hoceima (12 cases), Fez-Meknes (nine cases), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (seven cases), Oriental (six cases), and Laayoune Sakia El Hamra (two cases).
