Davos - Chairman and CEO of Acwa Power Group, Paddy Padmanathan, praised Wednesday in Davos 'the renewable energy revolution' happening in Morocco under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI.

Speaking during a panel on 'New energy economy' at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Padmanathan highlighted the achievements and progress made by Morocco in solar and wind energy.

He also praised the assets as well as the favorable climate for investment in this field in Morocco.

During this panel, the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government, in charge of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies, Mohcine Jazouli, highlighted the success story of green energy in Morocco, as well as the promising investment prospects offered by the Kingdom in this field.

'These advances, which are the result of the enlightened vision of HM the King, are backed by a well-crafted regulatory system,' the minister said, referring to the role of the Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (MASEN).

The panel, moderated by British journalist Martin Wolf, was an opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities related to the transition of electricity generation dominated by fossil fuels to clean and green modes.

ACWA Power is a developer, investor, co-owner and operator of a portfolio of power generation, renewable energy and desalinated water production plants.
