    Data Firm SAS Appoints Tayfun Topkoc Head of Africa, Asia Operations

    The decision is in line with the company’s strategy to strengthen its regional market footprint and increase its roster of clients in the region.

    Rabat - SAS, an international data management firm, announced today that it is appointing Tayfun Topkoc as General Manager of the Middle East, Africa, Turkey, and Central Asia operations.

    The new appointment is part of SAS’s strategy to strengthen its market position and meet the growing demand for data analytics, artificial intelligence, and cloud-based solutions, according to a statement from the company.

    Tayfun Topkoc has played “an important role in developing the company's strategic vision,” the statement explains.

    The new regional manager holds over 22 years of experience within the digital industry.

    Commenting on the news of the new appointment, Tayfun Topkoc said that he is looking forward to “leading the regional business of SAS and contributing to its sustainable growth.”

    “SAS has proven its relevance and expertise in global digital transformation. Customer focus, deep industry knowledge, and a forward-looking attitude is what the SAS team stands for and I'm proud to be part of it,” he added.

    SAS assists companies in transitioning to a cloud-based environment to maximize operatonal efficiency.

    The company is present in 150 countries, with more than 80,000 businesses, universities, and governments using its digital solutions.

    Launched in 1971, the company currently employs 11,764 people.

    Following the spread of COVID-19, the digital market thrived as internet penetration skyrocketed and businesses accelerated the rate of digital services adoption in a bid to stay afloat.

    Echoing the rise of the digital market, the global big data market analytics went from 206.95 billion in 2020 to USD 231.43 billion in 2021, and is expected to grow two folds by 2028, according to a report from Fortune Business Insights.
