Rabat - Hospitality company Ennismore and real estate company Alargan are joining forces to open the first Mama Shelter hotel in Casablanca in November 2024.
Ennismore and Alargan signed the partnership on February 3 in Casablanca, marking a strategic step in both companies' expansion plans. The hotel is Mama Shelter's first property in Africa, as well as Alargan International's first mixed-use real estate project in Morocco.
The hotel will feature 92 rooms and 49 apartments, a swimming pool, with 8,062 square meters of space.
It will also feature a 40 m² meeting room and a fitness room and several catering options on an area of 526 m² including 71 m² of terrace.
“We are extremely excited to open the first Mama Shelter in Africa in Morocco. We know that our brand carries the core values of Moroccan culture, such as the generosity that our guests find in our approach to dining, the joy of living and sharing with friends and family,” said Cedric Gobilliard, Chief Operating Officer at Ennismore.
“We look forward to introducing Mama Shelter to this beautiful city and all it has to offer,” he added.
Meanwhile, Khaled K. Al-Mashaan Chairman and CEO of Alargan noted: “The opening of Mama Shelter Saray Casablanca represents a strategic step in the expansion roadmap of our two organizations. This milestone marks the beginning of a new era in the leisure hotel industry in Africa.”
Morocco's strategic geographic location and growing economy have attracted numerous investments in its hospitality sector.
Last month, luxury hospitality company Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts announced the opening of its fourth luxury establishment in Rabat's Kasr Al Bahr neighborhood in 2023.
The luxury hospitality brand Nobu Hotel is also opening its doors to the public on January 23 in Morocco’s red city, Marrakech.
The Nobu brand is led by world-famous actor Robert De Niro, film producer Meir Teper, and renowned sushi chef Nobu Matsuhisa.
