Rabat - Morocco’s National Tourism Office (ONMT) announced signing a partnership with international tourism and travel TUI Group on Tuesday, noting the deal aims to boost tourism activities in Morocco.
Covering the next five years, the deal is expected to double tourist arrivals to Morocco with a growth rate of about 220%, stressed ONMT’s statement.
Under the deal, OMNT and TUI Group will conduct mutual projects that would double the number of tourists coming to Morocco from France, and triple the number of tourists arriving in the North African country from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Belgium.
The TUI Group currently manages trips for around 210,000 European tourists coming to Morocco. Thanks to the new partnership, the number of tourists will approach half a million customers.
Singing the agreement was the Director General of the ONMT, Adel El Fakir, and TUI Group’s Chairman and CEO, Sebastian Ebel.
Commenting on the signing of the agreement, El Fakir said that the agreement is an important milestone for ONMT and Moroccan tourism. “TUI is undoubtedly a leading operator whose impact in terms of volume is significant for the sector,” he said.
According to El Fakir, the agreement will “increase the number of tourists coming to Morocco through TUO Group and also augurs similar commitments from many other travel prescribers.”
The TUI Group is an international company specializing in travel and tourism. The group manages 1,600 travel agencies, online websites, 400 hotels, as well as six airlines.
